Ellis has a new and wonderful claim to fame courtesy of A Timeless Tradition! The girls at A Timeless Tradition sold a prom gown to a young lady from Cimmaron (KS) named Kelsi, and she won the "Miss Lafee Prom 2010" National Contest! Kelsi won a $2500 scholarship, a trip to Chicago for her photo shoot for the 2011 Prom Catalogs, and a fashion show appearance modeling the company's other dresses.

So you may be asking why I am telling you all this. The reason is that Kelsi will be at A Timeless Tradition on Saturday, Aug. 21 (Tomorrow). Come out to the store and meet Kelsi and chat with her about her trip and the fashion show and all the girls can see how they can enter next year's contest just like Kelsi did. Wouldn't it be great to have an Ellis, KS girl win this honor next year? KISS 104.7 will also be on hand from 11 - Noon to interview Kelsi and give us all a chance to win $10,000 or a 52" Hi-Def TV.

Looking for co-ed softball teams!!! On July 24 & 25, there will be a benefit Softball Tourney for Ashton Drennon. He was born with Stage Three Neuroblastoma. I have a few notes for you and some dates for your June calendar...

Wed, June 2nd:

For all the wonderful people that volunteered to help paint Sunflowers, we will meet on this Wednesday, June 2 at the Bukovina Museum at 6pm to paint.  If it rains, we will meet on Thursday.  If it rains again, we'll try again another time.

Sat, June 5th:

This Saturday, June 5, is the community wide garage sale here in Ellis.  Come on over, it's always lots of fun.  And, if you still need to sign up for your garage sale, you have until Noon on Friday, June 4.  After that, I print the official maps.  Maps will be at the Travel Plaza, Casey's and in front of the Alliance office.

Sunday, June 6th:

The Culpepper-Merriweather Circus is back in town.  You can get your tickets early at the Alliance office or at Travel Plaza.  Show times are 2 & 4:30pm! 

Friday, June 11th

From 5-7pm, the Pro-Tour FMX Motocross Stunt Riders will have an autograph session at 1904 Clothing in the Mall at Hays.  Come on out and meet all the guys, have them sign something for you and chat with them.  They would love to see you all on Friday, then come to Ellis on Saturday to see them do their thing!!!  Upside down, sideways and hanging on by a thread!!  It's going to be great!!!

9:30am  Ribbon Cutting at the brand new Ellis Days Inn!!!  We want everyone to come and congratulate Ida, Sabrina, Jane and the entire crew on the opening of this great hotel.  We are so excited to have them in Ellis, so come hold the ribbon with us!!!
